Challenges
The customer, a system integrator, was looking for a compact edge AI system to develop an AI-enabled recycle bin. The system needed sufficient computing capability to identify waste using AI algorithms and integrate seamlessly with an automatic sorting system.

Optimizing Efficiency in the Recycle Bin with AI Capability
The integration of the AIE100-T2NX into an AI-enabled recycle bin transforms recycling operations. Users can effortlessly deposit recyclables such as plastics, bottles, and cans while the system autonomously sorts them. Automation improves sorting accuracy, maximizes storage efficiency, and reduces the frequency of cleaner visits, enhancing labour efficiency.
Additionally, the system proactively notifies cleaners via remote management when maintenance is needed. Sensors continuously update fill levels, triggering alerts when the bin is nearly full. This approach ensures high accuracy, improved recycling rates, and efficient operations.
